This Wooden Diffuser Alters Fragrance & Light Through Sculptural Design
References: yankodesign
This wooden diffuser is an aromatherapy object created by designer Chris233 that translates cultural memory into a multisensory household piece. The diffuser is carved from solid wood and shaped using visual references drawn from traditional Chinese garden architecture. Its central opening is framed by a flower-inspired window form that allows light and aroma to pass through the structure simultaneously. Users place incense or essential oils inside the core chamber, where heat activates gentle fragrance diffusion while internal lighting projects patterned shadows outward through the carved surface.
The design object is made to operate without electronic vaporization or strong airflow systems. Instead, it relies on passive heat and natural material absorption to release scent gradually. The wood grain remains visible across the surface, reinforcing the tactile and visual character of the piece.
