The Solis collection by Jette Scheib for Forestier features pendant lights handcrafted from woven raphia stretched across rigid metal frames. Fine black edging outlines each organic silhouette, while the natural plant fibers diffuse illumination to produce a soft, filtered glow. Named after the Latin word for "sun," the series references both the quality of light and the botanical material used in its construction. The pendants are available in diameters ranging from 40 cm to 100 cm, with each piece displaying subtle variations created by the irregular texture of the handwoven fibers.
The collection is produced through Forestier's long-standing partnership with specialist weaving workshops in the Philippines, where traditional basketry techniques are applied to contemporary lighting design.
