Emirates launched the world's first electrically powered Premium Economy seat, featuring a full-height, adjustable privacy divider between every seat. It debuted on newly received Airbus A350 aircraft in a 2-3-2 cabin configuration. Customers can raise or lower the divider using integrated seat controls, which also power a redesigned U-Dream headrest, an electrically deployable leg rest and preset lounge and meal modes.
The seats introduce wireless charging to Premium Economy for the first time, alongside USB-C ports and a 13.3-inch 4K touchscreen for in-flight entertainment. The cabin also debuts reusable amenity kits made with bio-based materials, developed with United for Wildlife, and an expanded wine program supported by more than $1 billion invested in Emirates' wine portfolio since 2006.
Emirates' fully electric seat signals that carriers are using granular personalization technology to differentiate mid-tier cabins rather than reserving innovation exclusively for premium classes.
