The 'Gamescent' Syncs with Gameplay to Add a Sense of Smell
Colin Smith — March 1, 2024 — Tech
The GameScent is a revolutionary device that lets you smell your video games in real-time. Using AI technology, the device analyzes the audio cues from your game and releases corresponding scents from swappable cartridges. Whether you want to smell the gunpowder of a battlefield, the rain of a storm, or the forest of an adventure, GameScent can enhance your gaming experience with a new level of immersion.
The device is compatible with any console, PC, or VR headset, and can be plugged into an HDMI or a 3.5mm audio jack. It comes with six scents: Gun Fire, Explosion, Racing, Storm, Forest, and Clean Air. More scents are planned to be released in the future, such as Blood, Ocean, and Napalm. GameScent is available on Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, and GameStop, and is currently on sale for $149.99 (MSRP $179.99) on Amazon. You can also try it out at PAX East next month, where GameScent will have a booth to demo the product.
