The Fifty Fathoms Tech Introduces Blancpain’s Patented Three-Hour Bezel
The Fifty Fathoms Tech is the latest dive watch from Blancpain, unveiled on World Oceans Day as part of the brand’s ongoing Blancpain Ocean Commitment initiative. Inspired by the original Fifty Fathoms introduced in 1953, the new model is housed in a 47 mm Grade 23 titanium case and is water resistant to 300 meters.
The watch features an absolute black dial designed to absorb up to 97 percent of ambient light, paired with two-tone Super-LumiNova that uses blue illumination for diving indications and green illumination for enhanced readability underwater.
The watch’s defining feature is a patented three-hour bezel combined with a dedicated three-hour hand, adapting traditional GMT-style functionality for extended dive timing. Power comes from Blancpain’s Calibre 13P5A movement, which delivers a 120-hour power reserve and is derived from the brand’s Calibre 1315 architecture. Additional features include a tool-free interchangeable strap system with orange, black, and white rubber strap options.
