At a time when plush collectibles are all the rage, Chiikawa Bakery launched a limited-time menu for the summer featuring character breads with sunburned features. Each animal character has flushed cheeks, expressive eyes and a contented expression, as well as a unique set of ears and colorful sunglasses. While the sunburned version of the classic Chiikawa Bread is filled with custard cream, the Hachiware Bread is filled with chocolate cream and the Usagi Bread has caramel cream at its center. Thanks to cleverly placed coffee spray, these characters look as though they've gotten a tan while spending time under the sun.
